HOW TO LOOK GOOD

Curvy Figures - What Do Curvy People Look Like?

Curvy girls look great in V-necks.
Girls with curves have figures that are shaped like an hourglass - big busts, small waists, big hips. Just think of celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, Salma Hayek and Jessica Simpson. These hotties know exactly what to wear to show off their curvaceous figures!

Curvy Figures - What to Wear

Curvy peeps look great in V-necks, as well as wrap tops and shirts with waistlines cuz they accentuate the waist. A wide belt cinched at the waist will also do the trick. Although skinny jeans and pants are in style, you should stick to flared or wide leg jeans cuz they balance out the hips. Another trend to stay away from is the oversized look cuz you'll just look sloppy!

Curvy Figures - What NOT to Wear

  • Chunky knits and sweaters

  • Puffed sleeves

  • Skinny jeans

  • Big, bold prints

  • Baggy layers

  • Pear Shapes - What Do Pears Look Like?

Choose boot-cut jeans and sparkly tops that draw the eyes up.

Pear-shaped peeps have small upper bodies (narrow shoulders, small bust) and larger lower bodies (shapely waist, full hips and thighs). If you're not sure what a pear-shaped bod looks like, then think of bootylicious celebs like Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera!

Pear Shapes - What to Wear

Draw attention away from your lower half by doing as Beyonce does and wearing colorful, sparkly, striped, or patterned tops. Accessories like earrings, necklaces, pins, hats and scarves will also draw eyes upwards. When it comes to bottoms, stick to dark colors (they have a slimming effect), A-line skirts and low-rise, boot-cut jeans. And as for shoes, heels can make your legs look longer and leaner, and knee-high boots will cover up your legs if that's what you want.

Pear Shapes - What NOT to Wear

  • Short, tight skirts

  • Pants with side pockets

  • Tapered hems

  • High-waisted pants and jeans

  • Long and Lean - Tips for Tops

Choose chunky knit sweaters, feminine tops and flared skirts to add curves.

Clothes that add fullness will create the illusion of curves. So look for tops that can be cinched at the waist and choose pretty colors and soft, floaty fabrics for a girlier feel. And lucky for you, oversize is in this season so play with your proportions in billowy tops and chunky knit sweaters.

Long and Lean - Basic Bottoms

Girls with boyish figures can wear pretty much anything on the bottom - but avoid anything that's too fitted, which can emphasize a straight silhouette. Go about creating a curvy shape with pants and jeans with side pockets to bulk out your slim hips, and flared and frilly skirts to add more volume to your figure.

    Long and Lean - A Shoe-In

Forget the pointy heels cuz round-toe shoes will give a soft finish to long legs. Slip on dainty ballet flats or step into a pair of knee-high boots and you'll be good to go!

WHAT JEANS WORK FOR YOU ?

We all have different body types, so we're not all going to look fabulous in the same styles. Some of us look hot in skinny jeans, while others prefer baggy denims. Find out which jeans look best on you based on your figure.

    Pear Shape

Boot-cuts minimize a wide hip and behind. Boot-cut jeans are flattering on any body type, but they're best for pear shapes because the slightly flared hems minimizes thighs and balances out a wide hip or behind. The best way to wear boot-cuts is with high-heeled boots or stilettos, so leave your flat shoes at home.

    Boyish Frame

Skinny jeans give the illusion of curvier hips. Girls with boyish figures should choose skinny jeans because the slender cut at the calves makes hips look wider and adds curves to a flat behind. Offset skinnies with a voluminous top, and either wear them with flats or tuck them into a pair of slouchy boots.

    Short Legs

Trouser jeans have a higher waist. Get the illusion of long legs with trouser jeans, which has a higher waist that provides a longer vertical line. Elongate your legs even more by stepping out in heels. Remember, the longer the hem, the longer your legs will look. This doesn't mean that your jeans should be dragging, but that the hem should hit below the ankles.
